What are enzymes and how do they work?
While people most commonly know about enzymes as the proteins that break down food and do digestion, enzymes can act as a catalyst for a number of reactions in the body, including helping us to recover from exercise.
What enzymes help the body recover from exercise?
Proteolytic enzymes are best for recovery and have commonly been used for sore muscles from overexertion.* Among the proteolytic enzymes in Repair Gold are protease, catalase, serrapeptase, bromelain and papain.
What is different about Repair Gold enzymes versus others?
Enzymedica's proprietary Thera-blend™ technology means that the enzymes found in Repair Gold will work throughout the entire pH spectrum found throughout the body. When other brands’ enzyme formulas may fall short, in almost all acidic or alkaline environments, Repair Gold will be effective. These formulas contain the proteolytic enzymes protease, bromelain, papain and catalase in a new targeted release capsule to ensure optimal delivery.
Proteolytic enzymes, such as those found in Repair Gold, have been commonly used for sore muscles due to overexertion.* Serratiopeptidase, like nattokinase, functions as a proteolytic and fibrinolytic enzyme. Also referred to as serrapeptase, this enzyme offers support for healthy circulation by accelerating tissue repair to calm joint discomfort and maintain balanced secretion of interstitial fluid.
